Games to 21
Ones inside the arc, twos behind it. Win by two, or take the first basket after the ten-minute cap.
Season 2027 · The Opening Season
Clutch 21 is the professional 1v1 basketball league. Six city stops, sixteen-player brackets, one champion. The opening season tips off in Chicago on 14 March 2027.
The format
Twenty-one is the oldest argument in basketball. We gave it a rulebook, a shot clock, officials and a season table — and left everything that makes it worth watching alone.
Ones inside the arc, twos behind it. Win by two, or take the first basket after the ten-minute cap.
Clear behind the arc, then score inside twelve seconds. Stalling is a turnover, not a tactic.
Every stop is a sixteen-player single elimination. Points carry to the season table; the top eight reach the Finals.
Opening night
Wintrust Arena, 14 March 2027. Sixteen players, one night, straight knockout from the first whistle — the first competitive game in league history.
Season table
Six stops, one table. Points are awarded by finishing position at each stop — a stop win is worth 100, and there are only six of them. The top eight reach the Las Vegas Finals in November.
| Finish at a stop | Points |
|---|---|
| Winner | 100 |
| Runner-up | 70 |
| Semi-final | 45 |
| Quarter-final | 30 |
| Round of 16 | 15 |
Players
Signed professionals plus qualifier winners from every host city. One-on-one exposes everything — handle, footwork, conditioning, nerve.
Open qualifiers run in every host city the day before each stop. Sixteen spots. No seeding, no favours.
